New Year

Here’s what I know:

  • It’s 2018 (What the what?!?!)
  • We started Whole30 today (it was doctor’s orders for me and my husband is oh so kind to join me – so just be aware dear loved ones – we are hungry and can’t have sugar)
  • I’m getting off social media again for sure until Easter, but maybe for longer.  These entries will still automatically post to Facebook and Instagram, but I won’t be posting outside of that.
  • My word for 2018 is: ABIDE.  More on that and my 2018 goals later.

So – I’ll keep you updated on my current self-imposed torture otherwise called Whole30 and you’ll be hearing from me as things are laid on my heart to share.

My hope is 2018 will be the year you can look back on as one of impact, growth, and revelation!

  1. The biggest struggle people have with the Whole30 is that they are hungry b/c they aren’t eating enough!!! Don’t let yourself be Hangry! Just eat more of what you’re allowed! Let me know if I can help!

  2. Ashley, Frank and I did Whole 30 this summer to support Leigh and Bryan as they did it. We lost weight and have kept it off. We aren’t still doing it strictly, but I have rarely wanted sugar since. Amazing! I would love to know why your doctor is having you do this? Also, it gets easier. Just hang on.   3. I’ve been sugar free and extremely low carb for a year exactly. Today is my anniversary starting this. You can do it! Just get past the withdrawal and it’s smooth sailing. Check with your doc if monkfruit is ok. It’s what I use as a sweetener and does not affect blood sugar (which is my problem). Lakanto.com is having a 50% sale on it right now. Blessings!

  5. Hi Ashley!

    I did Whole 30 last January. It’s a great time of the year to do it. This year we are doing a modified whole 30 the first five days of every month. Didn’t successfully do it this week because my Mom had hip-replacement surgery unexpectedly and I had to travel, but we will get back on another week this month.

    It’s hard but so worth it. Hang in there. I know Rachael Walkup could share every time I could share, so I won’t give you my millions of tips. I will tell you to surround yourself with other people who will encourage your journey. It’s not easy and takes a village to stay on it. You can do it!!!!

    I’m also taking a break from social media this year. I get to do Social Media Wednesdays and it’s only during the day when my kids are at school. My goal is to eliminate me holding my phone or looking at my screen in front of my kids. I’ve loved it so far!!
